Quarterly Newsletter

With his father by his side, patient Manish watches bravely as Dr. Jacqueline Chak prepares to give him his immunizations.

Busy Season with “Shot Month”!

RotaCare San Leandro had a very busy quarter, especially in the month of August, in light of school starting. We hosted what we called a “Shot Month” so that children could receive vaccinations in preparation for school. In August, we saw 4x our normal patient load to serve as many children as possible within our clinic hours.

This past quarter, we also on-boarded several new volunteers, from physicians, nurses, and medical assistants to student interns, who have been an enormous help with this busy season. Several Rotarians from the San Leandro Rotary also came out to the clinic during “Shot Month” to help with registration, rooming patients, and passing out candy and stickers to all our patients who received shots.

We are proud to be able to serve the children in our community and allow them to enroll in school and have an education.
