Quarterly Newsletter

Proud to Serve the San Leandro Community!

On Saturday March 12th, RotaCare San Leandro participated in Davis Street’s 2nd annual Health Fair, a fun-filled day featuring games, prizes, music, free BBQ and fresh food, and most importantly, complimentary health screenings and linkages to dozens of healthcare and social services programs in the Bay Area.

Despite the gloomy weather, over 1,000 people attended the event, many of whom visited the RotaCare table and received information about the free medical services that we provide to people with no health insurance. The event was a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with people in need and increase our visibility in the community.

We are pleased to serve as a safety net clinic in an area with ongoing need. From January to March, we saw a total of 107 patients (137 visits). 69% of those patients were below poverty, 34% were ages 0-18, and 34% were Hispanic/Latino (24% White, 21% Asian, 11% Black). We are also excited to welcome new volunteers on board – a new pediatrician, family doctor, and nurse practitioner – who will significantly contribute to the level of expertise and patient care that we provide.
