Christine Vu (left) and Elizabeth Batiuk (Right)

RotaCare San Leandro will soon be saying goodbye to two very dedicated student volunteers. Both Christine Vu and Elizabeth Batiuk have been serving tirelessly at our clinic since September 2016.

Christine studied microbiology & immunology at UC Irvine and graduated in 2015. Due to her interest in public health, she sought out to volunteer at RotaCare to learn more about safety net clinics and how they operate. Christine always brings such a bright presence to our clinic with her cheery smile and enthusiasm. We are excited that she will soon be starting medical school at Touro University.

Elizabeth will be graduating this June with a bioengineering degree from Santa Clara University. Elizabeth has been essential for keeping our clinic flow smooth, interpreting for our Spanish-speaking patients, and assisting doctors with sending out referrals. She has appreciated the unique opportunity to get clinical experience as a student while serving the community.

We are sad to see them leave our clinic, but are very excited for them as they both are pursuing careers in medicine! We wish them bright success and best of luck!
