RotaCare San Jose Free Medical Clinic

The RotaCare San Jose Free Medical Clinic is offering appointments, free of charge, in Spanish and English, on Wednesday evenings, for all community members over 18 years of age, who do not have medical insurance, and who have limited finances.

 

Appointments can be either on the telephone, or in-clinic at our Washington School clinic.

 

At present, we are offering telephone appointments every Wednesday evening, and in-person clinic appointments on the first and third Wednesday evenings of the month.  Appointments start at 5:00 PM.

 

To schedule an appointment, please call our clinic number at 408-715-3088, and leave a message that includes your name, your telephone number, and the reason for your call.  We will call you back to schedule the appointment.

 

We would also like to inform you that telephone calls will be returned from a blocked or private number. â€‹

La clínica médica gratuita RotaCare San José ofrece citas gratuitas en español e inglés los miércoles por la noche para todos los miembros de la comunidad mayores de 18 años que no tengan seguro médico y que tengan recursos económicos limitados.

 

Las citas pueden ser por teléfono o en la clínica de nuestra escuela Washington School.

Actualmente, ofrecemos citas telefónicas todos los miércoles por la noche y citas en la clínica el primer y tercer miércoles por la noche del mes. Las citas comienzan a las 5:00 p.m.

 

Para programar una cita, llame a nuestro número de clínica al 408-715-3088 y deje un mensaje que incluya su nombre, su número de teléfono y el motivo de su llamada. Le devolveremos la llamada para programar la cita.

 

También nos gustaría informarle que las llamadas telefónicas se devolverán desde un número bloqueado o privado.​

The entrance to the clinic is on Edwards Ave, one street south of Oak Street.

Services offered:

​

  • Medical evaluation by a physician, physician assistant (PA), or nurse practitioner (NP)

​​

  • Prescriptions, laboratory testing, imaging referrals

​

  • Referrals to specialty clinics at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center as appropriate

​

  • Referrals to other community services

​​

  • Spanish language interpreters are available

​​

Scope of Clinical Practice

​

  • Patients 18 years of age and older

​

  • Acute care for minor illness or injuries, such as flu symptoms, asthma symptoms, joint pains, seasonal allergies, skin rashes, minor infections, stomach pains.  We are not equipped for significant trauma-related injuries, such as management of acute fractures, or suturing for skin wounds.

​​

  • Evaluation of chronic conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, and thyroid disorders.  We encourage our patients with chronic conditions to apply for medical insurance (Medi-Cal) for on-going care.

​​

  • Some of our providers provide office gynecology services

​

We are NOT able to provide the following services:

  • Tuberculosis (TB) testing,

  • Women’s health services

  • STD treatment

  • mental health services

  • dental services

  • vision services

  • examinations to determine disability

  • chronic pain management

  • narcotic medications

  • surgical procedures

  • At present, we are not offering vaccinations of any kind at our clinic.​

Volunteers:

​

We welcome volunteer providers (MD, DO, NP, PA) with primary care experience; nurses (RN, LVN); front office clinicians (such as MA or EMT); and Spanish language interpreters.  Please apply at rotacarebayarea.org/volunteer.
